The area of Western Cepheus surrounding the Ghost Nebula (a small brownish nebula at the image's center) is covered by dust particles. There are many bright and dark nebulae in this region. The most promenent nebulae are the Iris Nebula NGC 7023, the Ghost Nebula vdB 141 and the relection nebula NGC 7129.
