Astrophotography at Brunnalm

Astrophotography at Brunnalm

Notes: In the autumn of 2006 I tried a new observation site, mainly to get above the usual late-autumn fog layer: The Brunnalm, situated on the southern slope of the Veitschalpe, which is a mountain plateau rising to a height of 1981m, located in Styria. This exposure was taken in November 2006. The moon was low in the sky and provided illumination of my astrophotography setup in the foreground and the rocky mountain face in the background. A few clouds are scattered among the northwestern sky, these dispersed soon afterwards. The obervation site turned out to have a very nice dark and transparent sky, although it is a long drive from my home base in Vienna.
